Comments: Contrary to the world’s definition of beauty, this book takes you through the issues of beauty, modesty and self-image based on God’s standards. True beauty isn’t about being a slave to what you wear, how you look, what you eat etc. It’s about knowing who you are in Christ. It’s about having a real relationship with the One Who created us in His image and reflecting the beauty of His glory. This book discusses beauty as defined by the world and its deception, what true beauty is, how and why it’s important to dress and behave modestly, the beauty of having close friends who nourish us in our spiritual growth, the benefits and importance of having godly older women in our lives to mentor us, the relationship between mother and daughter, as well as father and daughter. Very insightful and real. After reading it, though I would still recommend it to ladies of my age, this is a book probably most suitable for girls in their teens or early twenties

Comments: This book contains questions and answers with regards to issues about life that a youth and/or teen would ask. I appreciate that the author (a pastor) admits that even though he is going to answer like a pastor (not an engineer, scientist or psychologist), it doesn’t mean that the answers will only come from the Bible, and he’ll sometimes give answers through common sense – so long as it doesn’t contradict Scripture. He further states that if the answer is just him giving his own personal opinion, he will let the reader know for the Lord requires us to trust and obey His word – not bind us to the author’s views :] A pretty useful and informative book for a teen with lots of questions / doubts and of course, for those of us who are working with such!
